Indicator Purpose

The indicator is meant to track the number of water points built or rehabilitated through TSA interventions.

Indicator Guidance

Definition of key concepts

  • Water points built or rehabilitated: This may refer to any of the following, that have been constructed or fixed by the project to the point where it can again serve its purpose:

a.       Piped water into dwelling plot or yard

b.       Public tap/standpipe; borehole/tube well

c.        Protected dug well

d.       Protected spring

e.       Household rainwater collection tanks

What we measure:

  • Total number of water points built and/or rehabilitated

Who to measure:

  • Data to be disaggregated by:

○         Location (i.e. school, community, household) (mandatory)

○         Purpose of water usage (drinking, washing, gardening, irrigation, construction) (when relevant)

○         Rural-urban/disability/minority/ethnicity/socio-economic status (when relevant)

How to measure:

  • Simple counting of water points built or rehabilitated.

  • To be reported on at least annually.
