Quick guide

The indicators included in this manual will be reported on the Hive by the Development Officer as part of normal project reporting, with data collected annually.

To set up your logframe during the proposal stage:

  1. Select relevant thematic areas within the Hive proposal templates

  2. Review the automatically added Global Indicators (after clicking 'generate outcomes')

  3. Add any relevant Standardised Indicators from the drop down list

  4. Add any Custom Indicators you need

  5. Collect and report data as part of your project monitoring

When reporting:

  • Only results that have been achieved or partially achieved through TSA interventions should be reported and nothing else.

  • Only results from the reporting year/period in question should be included and nothing else.

  • Only report results against goals and indicators that are relevant for the project, meaning the project is able to and has an interest in tracking, measuring and documenting data.

  • Only results that can be documented by the project may be included. All reported results should be traceable.

  • If exact data are unknown or difficult/demanding too many resources to establish, please use estimations and explain these in the comments section (in the indicator tracker of the reporting section on the Hive). Please always use the comments section to explain method(s) of calculation. This applies to total data as well as disaggregation.

  • Beware of double counting. The same person/activity should never be surveyed twice for the same indicator. This is more challenging when reporting reach data, however for reporting on these outcome indicators double counting should never occur.

  • Projects are strongly encouraged to provide disaggregation by sex, age and disability (for disability, use the Washington Group short set questions) wherever possible, though the Hive will initially work with totals. When providing disaggregation, the combined number should always add up to/equal the total. If complete data is not available, use estimations and explain the calculation method in the comments section.

As referenced above, the indicators in this manual are to be refined and added to as required. Please speak to the relevant thematic lead in IDS if you have any feedback or ideas. If you’re not sure who to speak to please email ihq-ids@salvationarmy.org.
