S-ECO3 - # (number) of community members trained in non-agriculture Income Generating Activities (IGA) and/or entrepreneurship

Indicator Purpose

This indicator is meant to monitor and measure how many people have completed training in IGAs and/or entrepreneurship.

Indicator Guidance

Definition of key concepts

  • Community members trained: This refers to any individual participating in a relevant training. To be relevant, the training needs to be some sort of formal training program based on a curriculum; minimum a 5-day course.

  • Non-agricultural IGAs: This refers to all kinds of non-agricultural activities with the potential to generate an income.

  • Entrepreneurship: This refers to the activity of setting up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit.

What to measure:

  • Number of people who participated in a training.

 Who to measure:

  • Data to be disaggregated by:

a.       Gender (mandatory)

b.       Rural/urban/disability/minority/socio-economic status (when relevant)

How to measure:

  • Attendance records from trainings conducted.

  • To be reported on annually.
