Indicator Purpose

The purpose of the indicator is both to track degree of organization and the degree to which civil society approaches are adopted in the portfolio. Also, the indicator provides key figures related to the reach of the project.

Indicator Guidance

Definition of key concepts        

  • Organized: By this, we mean anyone who chooses freely to be a member of any form of group, association or network (for example village development committee, support group, women’s group etc.) that has been set up as a consequence of project activities or revitalized (if it is an existing structure) by the project in order for its members to reach common and/or personal goals.

Instructions            

Beware of double counting: e.g. if a person has been organized both in a village committee and a support group, only one person should be counted and included in the total..

What to measure:

  • Total number of persons organized

  • Total number of individuals participating in the project

Who to measure:

  • Data to be disaggregated by:

    a.       gender (mandatory)

    b.       Single group or cluster group (mandatory)

    c.        disability/minority/socio-economic status (when relevant)

How to measure:

  • Simple counting of project participants registered as members of any group, association or network (for example, village development committees, support groups, women groups, etc.) that has been set up because of project activities or revitalized (if it is an existing structure) by the project.

  • To be reported on annually.
