Indicator Wording
Indicator Guidance
WASH.1. refers to the number of people accessing sufficient and safe water for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene use. When in-kind water sources are provided, only WASH.1. should be used. With WASH.2 used with projects that focus on infrastructure. If a project includes both infrastructure and in-kind components, then both WASH.1. and WASH.2. should be used.
Important Comments
It is essential that project proposals clearly demonstrate how sector standards, which for this indicator both SPHERE and CPMS are the sector leads. Proposals should look to include how SPHERE, Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS), and Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS), are integrated into the project design and implementation.
